Personal Post

I want to start to keep a regular diary of my thoughts about what is happening in my mind during this time in my life. John and I are now married for 8 years together for 10years. We have had our ups and downs, but nothing too serious. Lately things are good house sitting Barbara Fox's house for the summer in San Felipe.
Love it - Comfortable - Cool - Perfect!

During July and the first part of Aug we drove to Oregon to visit John Mom and Sisters, we had a great time! We went to the town monthly street party "the 3rd Thursday", relaxed at a Blues Festival, wnet on a paddle boat, won a Birthday Prize for Suzette to Willie Nelson and Family concert at the Bret, & just hung out and partied at Suzette's ranch. Pleased with all the festivities!

Diary - Update San Felipe to Vincente Guerrero

Friday, March 12, 2010
San Ignacio - NO GAS: We're still in San Ignacio. Our plan was to leave today, but we then found out there is no bank and we didn't have enough money for gas. So, we borrowed 200 pesos from our friends, packed up and drove to the gas station only to find there is no gas. We are now at Las Palmas campground waiting for gas to arrive, they said maybe later today, but we know how that can go in Baja. With any luck gas will be here later today and we can get to Guerrero Negro by this afternoon. Our goal is to be in San Felipe next week.

San Ignacio River & Lagoon: Today we moved from Rice & Beans to a wonderful spot next to the San Ignacio river. We can actually hear the frogs outside on the river bank. We're in the middle of date palm orchard, and it's very quiet. Tomorrow we are going to the lagoon for pictures. We hope to be back on the road tomorrow afternoon on our way to Guerrero Negro.

Mulege to San Ignacio:Today we arrived at Rice & Beans in San Ignacio. Took us 3 hours from Mulege. Stopped in Santa Rosalia to look for a tire for the RV, the left dually is getting bald. No tires in Santa Rosalia or San Ignacio. Rice & Beans is $250 pesos per night, but has full hookups. We're recharging our batteries and filling and dumping our holding tanks. Tomorrow we will look for something different.

Playa Santispac: Tomorrow we'll be leaving Playa Santispac in Mulege and heading to San Ignacio. The beach is beautiful, although we have had lots of wind. Gary and Patricia are going to wait a day before leaving. Today we met our new distributor, she is very excited and has already done an amazing job getting the magazine out to people. When we stopped to visit an RV park to get info for next month RV edition, they already knew us and wanted to advertise.

Loreto - March 3rd

Back in Loreto again...
We have been here for about 5 day from La Paz where stayed for 7 day trying to get our generator serviced...finally we got the the parts and the parts replaced but we need a new carburetor. We decide to wait and get the new generator in Ensenada when we get home.

During our time in Las Barrriles BCS Mexico we saw the sights of Santiago, San Jose del Cabo, and Todos Santos. I will talk about those adventures later...So Back in Loreto and tomorrow on our way to Mulege for a few day of RR on the Beach and play in the water. The Bay of Conception is the first place in Mexico John and I vacationed together. We stayed in the same Palapa that John sister and her boyfriend stayed months before, but did not know until we saw her name carved into one of the post of the Palapa. Then last year we went we meet friend and camped on the beach and had somme great dinner over the camp fire. We hope to do the something next week.

Feb 18, 2010 - Thursday

Feb 18, 2010 - Thursday
We are in Los Barriles BCS Mexico and leaving tomorrow for La Paz. Our time here has been okay...nice place, great clean beaches, windy, & sunny. This is the place all the wind and Kite surfers come to catch the best wind and waves (Small waves)
I am glad to be moving - just worried about money as I always do. This, that and they need to be paid and we nerve have the money all the time.
Today John and I will be working to loose weight together Rachel = 145lb & John = 291 lb. We have to drop 75 lb btw the two of us. John will get a "special" treat for every 10 lb he looses. And will get the treat so long as he maintains his gold weight 230 lb. I will get some new clothes as the others will not fit any longer.

Dog Happy at Isla Coronado in Loreto BCS Mexico

John and I went on a boat trip with our new friend Brent last Wednesday the 22nd. We had a great time! We cruised around around Isla Coronado it is very beautiful and just amazing white sand beaches and emerald green waters - just a paradise.

Isla Coronado is part of Loreto National Marine Park. The park encompasses an area approximately 50 miles long and 25 miles wide, and includes five major islands; Isla Coronados in the north, and Isla Santa Catalina in the south, lie Isla del Carmen, Isla Danzante, and Isla Monserrate.

The National Marine Park is the third protected marine bioregion in the Gulf of California, joining ranks with the Upper Gulf/Lower Colorado Biosphere Reserve to the north above San Felipe and the Cabo Pulmo Reserve to the south. The park is fairly small, covering approximately 1,283 miles (roughly 1/2 million acres) in the Sea of Cortés.

Cai had her first boat ride - she loved it watching the waves crash on the bow of the boat. She also swam in the sea by herself with our us trying to make her swim - Hay!!! she is going to like the water after all! We all can not want to experience the beauty again.

Back in Loerto after a week in La Paz

It has been a few weeks btw my blog enteries... So I guess an update is in order. The beach is only three blocks from "River del Mar" where we are staying. We take brakes and relax on the beach for an hour or, very nice. I love the Sea!

One Sunday we took a walk to the small marina; John wanted to see where the locals fish off the rocks. As sat on the rocks and enjoyed the sea breeze we saw a group of Mexicans jumping off the rocks into the sea.

"WOW!" we both said.

"Únete a nosotros vamos!" Come on join us, we hear from the guys to in
Spainsh. John at first hesitaed then went for it. "Otra ves - Again" I told him and he jumped
again! on top of sharing the rock with John they gave him a beer; how cool is that they just meet John and because he jumpped off
the rock with them they gave him a beer.

John and I are back in Loreto and are doing okay...Loreto is very much like SF but the Malecon and city had little to zero trash. Mountains behind and sea in front - we love it!

La Paz is nice but only has one RV Park in town well out of town about 10 miles. We had to ride the Bus each day and then walk block before we could even do business, a harder nut
to crack. Because of the distance we really did not get to see anything but the malecon nice but there is still more to see and experiance. With the Car we will be able to do just that in all the cities we go to...less gas and more exporing!

John is going to SF to get our car so we can explore areas, as I said above, we have been limited to foot and bike; whick is okay but we are missing out on business and fun! in the coming weeks will be building Loreto La Paz, San Jose del Cabo, Cobo, & Santo Thomas. In Aug we should be in SF again for the Steel Drum concert Aug 11th at Jolly Mon and then to Santa Barbara Sept 5th for Troy's Wedding.

Pack Travels Part 2

The Advernture of Pack Travels Part 2
We left San Felipe Friday June 5th at 6:30pm and took MX-3 across to Ensenada; along the way we ran into racers, pit crew, and views of the Baja 500...yes we left the same day the race stared. We have a lot if traffic - Crazy drivers!

1st stop Estero Beach - we arrive at around 11pm and did not get settled until about 1am (after getting gas and food). The park was nice & clean over looking an Estuary with infinity pool, hot tub, showers, laundry facilities, & of course Full Hook ups...all the comforts of home! In the morning we use our time to get things in order. I started to put all the stuff I brought - TOO Much; and John worked on the outside getting the compartments in order.

When we left John said "there is now way we have room for all this stuff." and I replied "Wait to see the magic of Rachel" and I continued to work on organizing and unpacking 'doing my magic' as John drove.

2nd stop stopped in Catavina at an RV Park for $6/night Dry Camping. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was okay but expencive for my 2 tacos, John's breakfast, two beers, with the $6.00 camp to $26 or $28 uds...wow! I will always ask "¿Cuánto cuesta?" (how much does it cost?) if there are not prices listed. It was tight quarters as I still had too much stuff and my magic was not working. We managed to get the bed cleared so we could sleep.

I forgot to tell you a large part of the story...including all the STUFF, John, & myself; we have two cats (Cheeto & Max) & Cia our new puppy. We joke that we are a traveling ZOO...all us animals!

Head South - We got up June 7th and left Catavina at 8:15am for Loreto. We had Fruit and Yogurt for breakfast and started the Day. The wheels on the bus, trolley, no RV go round and round round and round...Through Gurrero Negro about 10:55am; then to Mulege where we dropped off Guide to Butha's and El Burro. We continued and 5:30pm finally we made it to Loerto; driving around looking for two parts that we had in two travel guides - could not find them...have not fear we found a great park with everything for only $105.00/week. Full hook ups, shower, laundry, and it is gated with great security "Rivera del Mar". This home for about 10 days!

Lions trip to Puerto Penasco

This has been and interesting few days...on Saturday and Sunday 18 & 19 of April; We (Paco, Robin, Gary, Robin, John & Myself) went to Penasco with other District and Zone Lions Club Officers from San Felipe, Mexicali, Tijuana and San Carlos exploring the possibility of starting an English Speaking Lions Club in Penasco. It was a good meeting and I think it will be a slow start but could happen.

On Sunday our group at Guiseppi's for Breakfest and met Tom & Sandra from Rock Piont Times was a nice conversation and MLG hopes to work with them to promote the region.

In the process for the trip The group talked about the Blues and Next year...john I I are happy to be the ones that made it what it is - but it just is too much for us today. Our business & our personal heath is more important. So we have decided to help but not run the show if the Lions Club chooses to continue.

I will be sad if it does not continue - I will be very sad :(. I hope for the best for everyone wanting to see this grow to an annual event.
